West London Sands is part of the national Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity. We help bereaved parents in the West London area, their families and their friends.
The loss of a baby is devastating and the effects of grief can be overwhelming. You may feel isolated, disorientated and exhausted. It can be hard to take in information, make decisions or imagine how you’re going to cope. At West London Sands we understand what it’s like because we also are bereaved parents.
We are here to help you as much as we can, whenever you choose to contact us. The reassurance of speaking to someone else who has been affected by the loss of a baby can be especially helpful.
We have trained volunteer Befrienders who can offer support. Initially, this may be one-to-one by phone or email; later by meeting with other bereaved parents at our regular group meetings – see under Support Meetings for future dates.
Please get in touch if you would like to speak to someone.
You can reach us by email at westlondon@sandsvolunteer.org.uk or by phone on 07710010026
We run group support meetings (some in person, some on Zoom) where you can talk with other parents who have had a similar experience. You will find details on our events and Facebook page.
If you need more urgent assistance the free national Sands Helpline is open from Monday to Friday 10am – 3pm also 6 – 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays evenings – call 0808 164 3332
